Vanilla Butter Nut Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • ¼ cup Crisco or margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • ¾ cup evaporated milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3¾ cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla/butter nut flavoring

Steps

  1. Cream the sugar, butter, and Crisco together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition.
  3. Add evaporated milk and water, mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add flour and flavoring, mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a well-greased tube pan.
  6. Start in a cold oven set to 325 degrees F.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
