POLISH NUTS

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tea vanilla
  • 1 cup Crisco (must be Crisco)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cups flour
  • ½ tea salt
  • 4 tea baking powder

Nut Mixture

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 stick melted margarine
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 lbs ground nuts

Icing

  • 1 box powder sugar
  • 1 tea vanilla
  • 3 to 4 tea milk
  • 3 tea melted margarine

Steps

Bake at 350 for 12-15 min. Beat eggs add sugar and vanilla mixes well, add Crisco and milk. Mix by hand add flour, salt and baking powder. Dough should not be sticky. Roll out between wax paper spread with nut mixture roll up as tight as possible. Cut into slices, place on cookie sheet lined with brown paper. Once cooled ice with icing.
