Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato puree
  • 1 can Italian style tomato paste
  • 1 tea garlic powder
  • 1 tea pepper
  • 1 tea coarse salt
  • 3 tbls parsley flakes
  • 2 tbls dry basil
  • 3 shakes all spice

Steps

  1. Slightly sauté onions and garlic in olive oil, add spices and tomato paste, add 4 cans water using tomato paste can.
  2. Add puree and diced tomatoes and rinse can with warm water to equal 1 large full can of water add to sauce, bring to boil.
  3. Lower to medium heat and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Optional: add 1/2 cup good red wine.
