Pasta Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, diced
- 1 tbsp. olive oil (extra virgin)
- 1 large can diced tomatoes
- 1 large can tomato puree
- 1 can Italian style tomato paste
- 1 tea garlic powder
- 1 tea pepper
- 1 tea coarse salt
- 3 tbls parsley flakes
- 2 tbls dry basil
- 3 shakes all spice
Steps
- Slightly sauté onions and garlic in olive oil, add spices and tomato paste, add 4 cans water using tomato paste can.
- Add puree and diced tomatoes and rinse can with warm water to equal 1 large full can of water add to sauce, bring to boil.
- Lower to medium heat and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Optional: add 1/2 cup good red wine.
