Mushroom Filled Double Pinwheels
Ingredients
- 5 Tbs. butter
- 18 oz fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
- 2 cup finely chopped onions
- 2 tbs. flour
- 1 ½ tea thyme
- ½ tea salt
- ¼ tea pepper
- 1 tea lemon juice
- 1 ½ packages (24 oz each) frozen puff pastry sheets thawed according to package
- 1 egg lightly beaten with 1 tbs. water
Steps
- Heat butter in a large skillet, add mushrooms and onions cook till liquid evaporates.
- Stir in flour, thyme and salt, cook 2 minutes or until thicken.
- Unfold pastry sheets on floured board. Spread 1/3 mixture over first sheet of pastry, roll up tightly, cover and chill for 1 hour. Repeat with last two sheets.
- Cut chilled rolls into ¼ inch slices (about 32), place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet, baste with egg wash.
- Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
