Fresh Peach Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter (1½ cups)
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Peaches, peeled and cut into slices

Steps

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla, and mix until well combined. The batter will be very thick.
  3. Arrange the peach slices in the bottom of a greased 9 X 13 baking dish.
  4. Pour the batter over the peaches.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 60 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
